Create Sausage File Standard+

Concatenate several selected sounds into one WAV — a “sausage” — with a named marker at each source file’s boundary.

Select files in the Results list, a Taglist, or a Collections folder, right-click and choose Create Sausage File. basehead builds the combined file and loads it into the Waveform as a pending edit so you can audition it first — Space plays it, and each source file’s boundary shows as a named marker in the Markers panel.

Nothing is written until you save. A Save As… button appears on the waveform (Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+S); the suggested name is the first file plus _sasg.wav. Switching to another record discards the preview like any other unsaved edit.

What gets written

  • A boundary marker per source file, named from the source (its WAV cue label) — readable in the Markers panel and in any DAW.
  • A BWF bext chunk: Originator “basehead”, the origination date/time, and a Description listing the source files.
  • UMID / OriginatorReference are left blank on purpose, so Pro Tools never asks to stamp the file. Original bit depth is kept.

The MIDI Trigger pool’s own Save As… writes a sausage file the same way, straight from a save dialog.
