Adobe Premiere Pro

basehead has hardwired Target App support for Premiere Pro — Spot to Track (with or without handles), Xfer to Bin, and Follow Session Folder.

Adobe Premiere Pro

What you can do

  • Spot to Track with or without handles — S
  • Xfer to BinX
  • Follow Session Folder

Install the basehead PPro panel

The basehead PPro panel ships in the basehead full installer. After installing, re-open Premiere Pro and you’ll find the basehead panel under Window → Extensions.

The panel must stay open. Premiere Pro requires the panel to be visible for basehead to communicate with it — close it and the connection drops. (Stupid requirement, but it’s an Adobe thing.)

Spotting to a track

To spot a file directly to Premiere Pro:

  1. Select the audio track where you want the file to land (typically named A1–A8).
  2. Place the playhead at the desired location.
  3. Switch back to basehead and press S — the file lands on the selected track at the playhead position.

Xfer to Bin only

If you only want files in the Media Bin (not on the timeline), use X instead of S.

Premiere Pro doesn’t have a dedicated Audio Files folder like most DAWs, so we auto-create a _bhAudio subfolder next to the .prproj file and place new files there. Search this Knowledge Base for Follow Session Folder for more.
