Options/Target Apps and Wave Editors

To Show all the Options Tabs go to the menu ‘View/Options Page’

You set your Primary and Secondary Target App for the (S) and (X) functions on this page and also the same for the Wave Editors to use with (W).  They both have the their own key commands, but also if the Primary one is not running then the primary’s key command will trigger the Secondary one if available in your edition.

Supported Target Applications:

  • Nuendo/Cubase
  • Pro Tools
  • REAPER
  • Logic Pro
  • DaVinci Resolve Studio (FYI: Their FREE version does NOT support Scripting)
  • Premiere Pro
  • Media Composer (Limited to a metadata fix as has no proper API)

NOTE: We only support Target Apps with API’s now, but you can still set other applications as a DnD Application in the lower right for functions like ‘Bring to Foreground’.

Bring to Foreground
the selected target application will jump into focus in the front.
Note: This state can be temporarily reversed, if you need to drag a file to another location or internally inside BH, by holding the SHIFT key.

Use Description for Clip Name
sends the [description] to the region name instead of the newly generated [filename]

 Spot with Handles (Standard/Ultra)
additional seconds will be added to the start/end of the file when spotting to DAW with (S).

Spot Multiple Files In-line (Standard/Ultra)
places spotted files head to toe on the same track instead of up and down on the timeline.

For Spotting to work correctly with ‘Multiple Files Inline’ OR ‘Spot with Handles’ you MUST set the “Transfer Sample Rate” to the same as your DAW Session AND ‘Force Reference’ must be OFF.

Use Legacy Spotting  (Pro Tools Only)
the mode is to use the old Avid API instead of the newer Scripting SDK.  It will be toggle ON automatically if not Standard or Ultra OR if you spot to an unsupported version of Pro Tools.

Follow Session Folder (Standard/Ultra)
the Transfer Path follows the audio files folder for the current Active Project automatically.

Active Project (Standard/Ultra)
shows what project is currently active in your DAW

Wave Editors

On the right side of this panel you can choose a wave editor like OCENAudio, WaveLab, IZotope RX, Sound Forge etc…
This give you the option to edit files in an external editor.

Press (W) to toss the selected file to primary Wave Editor
Press (Alt+W) to open the file in Secondary one.

DnD Application
Use this to choose a Target app you want to ‘bring to Foreground’ after DnD is initiated if it’s not in the Target App popup box already.
