I just had to upgrade to a MP 7,1 running Catalina and PT Ultimate 2020.9.1 and I'm finding that BH 5.2.20 won't spot to track on this new machine. When I use the Spot command, BH says "Spotted" and the files get copied to the correct transfer path / Audio Files folder, but they don't get added to the session (either in the track or the clip list). Is this a setting I'm missing somewhere, a bug, or an incompatibility between my software versions?
Using the DnD bar does work, but it adds each file on a new track instead of sequentially on a single track (same as PT does when I use Import Audio Files), which is sort of annoying but it'll tide me over for now.

You may need to update to at least 5.2.27 when Catalina support was added.

This might be a compatibility problem with some combination of PT 2020 and Apple's new-ish security protocols that require you to explicitly grant access to files and privacy settings. I get a similar problem at home on Mojave, with some differences.
In both BH v4 (which I know isn't technically Mojave-compatible) and the latest build of v2020, I don't get a "Spotted" message when I try to spot to track. The files transfer to the PT clip list and Audio Files folder (not the track), but BH just beachballs and locks up.
With 5.2.41, I get a different problem. When I spot to track, I get the MacOS popup alerting me that BH wants to access the Accessibility settings, allowing me to open System Preferences. So, I open System Preferences and grant BH access. When I try to Spot to Track again, the settings in System Preferences immediately get reverted, and I get the same popup telling me to grant permission. In 5.2.41, the file is never added to the clip list.
Apple, as they always do, screwed things up royally with the new security prefs and BH was forced (like everyone and this is why developers just don't like Apple) to update to make things work correctly.
To go further with troubleshooting you would need to raise a ticket with screenshots etc. The issue is most probably security preference settings and especially with PT, you want to check these links:
