This would work opposite to the 'strip rule'. Here is my example:
I have a few files that contain the bpm at the beginning of the filename... for instance
110_bpm_Fly Breaks
120_bpm_Friday nite Beat
What I want to do is keep the first 3 characters (eg 110 or 120), crop everything after 3 characters and then copy the result to the bpm field.
Currently the only way I can do this is to strip a number of characters from the end. However, this doesn't work for multiple records if the names are of a different length.
