I have to work a lot in different studios and I wonder if there is any possibility to install Basehead on my mobil harddrive along with my soundlibrary, so that I can use it for searching everywhere I have to work. Installing my own programs in foreign studios isn't an option. Is this possible?
Thanks for any help!
It is possible to install BaseHead on an Ext drive and run it from there as a standalone app (well, macOS makes that a little harder as it does most "simple" things) however it references the ..\Documents\BaseHead 5.x location for the preferences and also needs permissions enabled on an OS (especially again, macOS. There may also be the need to have some dependencies installed by the installer (such as .net framework) and lastly if you need to do things like Spot to Track there is a need to have the integration plugins installed.
So for all these reasons it is kind of a requirement to initially install BaseHead as there is no way to overcome most of these requirements.
