License Modification

Just had your license modified or upgraded. Here’s how to pull the changes onto your machine.

The easy path

If you’re running a recent version of basehead, your license should auto-update on next launch.

If you’ve never installed the latest version, grab it from the Downloads page. Once launched, it’ll copy your old license over automatically.

If auto-update doesn’t kick in

  1. Head to the My Licenses page.
  2. Click the Copy icon next to your license.
  3. In basehead, open Help → Activation and click Paste.

You can also click Download on the My Licenses page and drop the .key file straight into your licenses folder:

~Documents/basehead/Licenses

v2023 users (and earlier)

On first launch, basehead will auto-copy your license over to the new licenses folder — but a few legacy items still need a manual touch:

  • Database — drag your old DB onto the Results List to copy and convert it to the new format.
  • Collections — if you used them in the past and don’t see them, choose Import Legacy Collection File from the Collections node menu and select your old file:
    ~Documents/BaseHead 5.x/libraryDefault.lib
