Option to hide News/Updates screen on load

When launching the software the user is always greeted with the news/updates feed. WHile this is convenient for some users to keep updates, others (like me) may like to just get to work without having to close this window constantly and in the case where an issue is occuring with the software and it is required to close/open it constantly to test or resolve it becomes even more cumbersome to click through this window and just get to the results list. 

Typing a query will hide the window instantly but 90% of my use case is cataloging and not querying. 

Please consider users to make their own decision as to if they would like to be updates constantly or as an option.
