Fine Control for Pitch Slider

Hello, Mac based Nuendo and Pro Tools user here. I'd love to be able to slow down the response of the pitch control to allow fine control. Similar to holding shift when moving the faders with the mouse in Nuendo / Cubase or CMD on Pro Tools. Can it be done?

It would be even cooler if you could have two modifiers say alt only to slow it down some and then shift and alt to slow it down more.

Or an alternative could be lengthening the negative pitch end of the slider so it covers more screen space, possibly?
